Troubled teens graduate high school with diplomaAcademic FAQ's

Can students take the SAT / ACT test while at DRA?

Yes students can take the SAT / ACT while at DRA.  We regularly work with students and parents to schedule testing according to ACT / SAT guidelines.  Students are taken off campus to Dixie State College for these tests.

How will the credits tansfer to DRA from another High School?

Diamond Ranch Academy will accept all equivalent credits earned with a passing grade from their previous high school. All documented and accepted credits earned with a passing grade or higher from a previous high school will appear on your Diamond Ranch Academy official transcript as "Transferred Credits". If there are credits or courses remaining to be completed to reach graduation requirements, the remaining courses will be completed through Diamond RanchAcademy.

Will DRA help students with the college application process?

We actively assist in this process for those students that want to submit college applications during their enrollment at DRA.  The Academic Director and Registrar assist in this process.

Will students be less likely to get accepted to college if their diploma comes from DRA?

From an academic perspective, DRA is fully accredited by the same accreditation association that accredits other high schools and colleges.

With this accreditation, student transcripts from DRA are viewed the same as if they came from any other public or private school.

If my kid comes to DRA with passing grades, but a very poor grade, can they retake these classes to improve their Grades or GPA?

Any class that they retake at DRA will not replace the original grade, but will show on their transcript twice, once at their old school and once at DRA. So if they got a D- in Algebra at home and then take it again at DRA and get an A, both will show on their transcript. This will improve their GPA and will look better for college applications than if they had not retaken the class.

"I wanted to let you know how I am doing.   It has not always been easy, but I've decided that taking the top road, and heading in the right direction is paying off and benefiting me in more ways then I can even begin to explain.
When I first got home I was doing great, I had one argument with my dad, but I was able to realize quickly that I was 100% and completely at fault.   I was being selfish again, but I am working really hard to gain trust back from my parents.   That is my ultimate goal other than my own success.
But, other then that everything has gone so great.   I am spending more time than I ever have before with my family.
Right now I don't really have any friends.   I was sad about it at first, but I cannot be around people that don't have the same values as me.  The stronger I stay the easier things are, so that is what I am doing.
Thank you all for all that you did for me and holding me accountable because now it is really paying off.   Thank you also for such a great graduation.   It was incredible and so important to me, so thank you for all you did.   I miss you all like crazy... DRA is my home away from home.  You are an amazing family and I love and miss you all!"
